A West Bridgford-based financial management company, Four
Corners Ltd, has raised £200,000 with the assistance of an
InvoRed "Green Stream" consultant funded by Connect Midlands, the
not-for-profit network part-funded by ERDF and backed by the East
Midlands Development Agency (emda).
Lorna White of Rhapsody Consulting constructed the deal between
Four Corners Ltd and Allmyplans.com as a strategic partner
alongside existing shareholders and a private investor. A mix of
equity and debt was secured to develop the leading edge technology
partnership and future proof the business.
Allmyplans.com is a simple online/web-based proposition which
enables consumers to access and manage all of their financial
information in one place. It is also an incredibly powerful tool
that can provide enormous efficiency to advisers and product
providers.
Phillip Bray, Four Corners' Managing Director commented:
"Businesses have two worries today, turnover and cash. The deal
enhances our offering to clients which puts us ahead of the
competition and has provided cash in order for us to restructure
the business, ensuring stability for the future.
"Whilst the deal is a team effort, it is clear that without the
Connect InvoRed-funded consultant, we could have not negotiated the
favourable terms of the deal without becoming seriously distracted
from our day to day business."
Particularly pleased with the successful venture in light of the
current economic climate, consultant Lorna White added: "Perhaps
financial services is the last sector that you would expect to see
growth in these days but Four Corners shows a great example of what
a well managed company can achieve with some direction and
restructure. The mix between Allmyplans.com's strategic partnership
and the additional private investment worked well together to
construct a solid deal.
"All deals take longer and cost more than anticipated so Connect
Midlands' help towards consultancy and deal costs have been
invaluable in ensuring the investment isn't eroded by costs from
day one."
John O'Reilly, Business Support Director at emda, added: "In the
current economic climate, raising investment has become more
competitive and, as a result, the support offered by the InvoRed
programme even more relevant and important. I would encourage any
business looking to raise investment to contact Connect Midlands
and benefit from the considerable support that they are able to
offer."
