Are your overseas profits not what they should be? Or are you
simply too nervous to venture abroad?
At a time when businesses may need to look beyond their home
markets, UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) wants East Midlands based
companies to maximise their overseas potential and
profits.
UKTI is inviting all firms, whatever their size, to the only
event in the region which devotes itself to overcoming the language
and cultural barriers to overseas trade; the International
Communications Masterclass 2009.
The event will be held on Friday May 15 between 9.30am and
3:30pm at the Park Inn, 296 Mansfield Road, Nottingham.
During the day UKTI is hoping to offer a greater understanding
of the services it offers and to provide companies with an insight
into current foreign markets.
The day will include international cultural workshops led by
experts in the field of language and culture. There will also be
workshops on international marketing with themes directed by
professionals from the Nottingham Business School.
The event will also offer the opportunity for each delegate to
receive a £50 match funding voucher to spend on language and
culture solutions from a list of accredited and approved
suppliers.
In addition, there will be the chance to win prizes including
half days of language training, 300 word translations, and many
more.
A director of International House, one of the biggest language
and cultural training organisations in the world, will also speak
on the day. Barry Tomalin has a plethora of international knowledge
having worked in over 61 countries worldwide and will bring a
wealth expertise to the event.
Suzannah Hutton, UK Trade & Investment's Language and
Culture Advisor in the East Midlands said: "To succeed
overseas in today's tough times you need to stand out from the
crowd.
"Our packed programme provides you with a wide range of
activities and access to experts in the field.
"Experience shows that if a company has a product or service
that is unique or innovative and sells well in the UK, then they
can sell it overseas - it's often just a case of identifying the
right market and the right contacts, which is where UK Trade &
Investment can help."
Tickets are £30 and to book your place email emita@emd.org.uk or call the emita
helpline on 01159471767.
