Leicester based company 'Kitchenmonkey.co.uk Ltd' has been
celebrating, as the whole team were thrilled that they have
been awarded the prestigious food label 'produced in the UK
National Forest'.
Brand Manager, Jacqueline Bailey, CIPD MREC, said "We are all
passionate about the dishes we produce here in our kitchens,
everyone cares immensely about the quality of dish we make for our
customers; and alot of this comes down to sourcing quality
ingredients with no compromise. We decided long ago that we were
going to support local farmers and producers and use quality
ingredients for each of our chef's recipes. To be involved in such
a label is a great honour to our team and our suppliers,
it allows all of us to support local jobs and communities. We
use farmers who care about the welfare of their animals and
who care about the eco side of growing vegetables etc. The quality
of these
ingredients reflects 100% in the taste comments we get from
our customers".
"Everyone, be them media, customers or chefs find it hard
to believe that they are actually tasting a frozen dish, and that's
down to our great ingredients and our great team. We all look
forward to working with the UK National Forest further in promoting
local. All we need now is for local businesses too to support
local, by stocking such local products so consumers can buy and
promote local too. Which according to the customers I talk to
(and myself) in local Delicatessens and Farm Shops is what they
want."
Real Food for Real People!'
The National Forest is one of the country's boldest
environmental projects and won the inaugural
Sustainable Development UK award in 2008. It is transforming
200 square miles in the centre of England. Along with this it is
further developing a collection of producers and suppliers of
farmers etc who work, produce, grow and rear within this
area. Together this supports local industries, jobs and
communities within this region.
