NFEA - the national enterprise network - today announces that
the East Midlands Development Agency (emda) has pledged its support
to ACT - a new membership programme for individuals working within
the enterprise sector.
NFEA launched ACT in February 2009 to provide a unique network
for like-minded professionals who offer services such as advice,
coaching, mentoring and training to those starting and running
small businesses.
In support of ACT, emda joins the Royal Bank of Scotland Group
in sponsoring the inaugural ACT Conference in Nottingham on Tuesday
28 April 2009 - an event to kick start activity for the new
national network. As part of this support, John O'Reilly, Business
Support Director at emda, will be presenting at the event. With
emda recently taking over lead responsibility for enterprise
amongst the country's RDAs, John O'Reilly is well placed to share
emda's views on the sector and visions for the future.
Speaking about the event, John O'Reilly said: "We have been
working hard to both simplify access to and improve the quality of
support available to businesses in the East Midlands. In the
current economic climate, business support and advice is more
important than ever, which is why we are pleased to see the
inaugural ACT Conference taking place in our region and are proud
to support the new ACT initiative."
Speaking of emda's support, NFEA Chief Executive George
Derbyshire said "We have been overwhelmed by the amount of positive
feedback obtained for ACT so far and emda's involvement
demonstrates the level of interest already received for this new
membership network. We are delighted to welcome emda as a
partner at the inaugural ACT Conference and look forward to working
with them during the event."
The inaugural ACT Conference will be held at The Village Hotel
in Nottingham and is open to business advisers, coachers and
trainers as well as stakeholders in the enterprise
sector.
Delegates will hear from leading speakers on enterprise support
policy, develop technical skills and knowledge and network with
other enterprise support professionals.
Those attending can also choose to attend one of three technical
workshops specifically developed for the conference in association
with the National Business Register, the Chartered Institute of
Marketing and SFEDI. Information will also be presented on
the new ACT initiative and there'll be a chance to sign up as a
founding ACT member on the day.
Bookings can be made through an online or downloadable booking
form available from www.nfea.com
Open to all individuals working within the enterprise support
sector, ACT opened for membership applications on 1 April
2009.
ACT membership offers an exciting programme of activities
including training and development, locally-based peer networking
as well as national representation from NFEA - the only national
business support association in the country. More information
on the ACT network and an online membership application form is
available from www.nfea.com or by calling 01234 831623.
